While in Munduk we saw how coffee is processed after the beans are picked. First they are sifted to get rid of the stones, then they are roasted and finally they can be ground.the owner of the small factory we visited made his grinder from his old tractor motor!!! A specialty of the region is Lawak coffee where the beans are eaten by civet cats, fermented in there stomachs and pooped out whole.
Nana read just yesterday about the kopiluwak coffee. There are 2 places in Sydney that has it on the menu - at $9.00 a cup!. They say they are selling around 25 cups a day. One woman apparently asked for a triple shot & the owner had to explain thatit would cost her $27.00!!
